East London
As there are many boycott lists out there, we are doing our best to work on finding local Nottingham businesses that are either solely or family owned, or that are taking steps in their business to be more conscious of who their supplies or services are coming from. Please bare in mind that big corporations play a big part, even in local businesses, so it is still important to be conscious of brands within smaller businesses when spending. If you notice a business selling something you deem unethical, politely let them know why and be an advocate for positive change. Please get in touch if you require more information or see any mistakes that need correcting.
⭐️ These are our star businesses. If you pass by, buy something, even if it’s as small as a drink!

Apps
Use Cynay or DuckDuckGo and delete Google
Start using Cynay (an Egyptian engineered search engine). It's website only for now, but keep a look out for the app!
For Android, visit the cynay website, search for anything, then click options and select it as the default browser.
For Apple, visit the cynay website, click share options, then add to Home Screen.
For iPhone default browser, go to settings and change your default browser to DuckDuckGo. You will have to be specific when you search (eg. Type Nottingham in the search bar if looking local) - this is because DuckDuckGo doesn't track you like most search engines.
Use EBay or Etsy and delete Amazon
Dont forget to delete your account in settings and tell them your reason for leaving - "Amazon funds genocide and I don't".
Use Justeat and delete Uber and Deliveroo
Don't forget to delete the app as and tell them your reason for leaving - "Uber/Deliveroo funds genocide and I don't".
Use NewsCord and don't be limited to bias
This platform is designed to surface biases in mainstream media and encourage readers to break away from their siloed news sources. NewsCord aggregates, summarizes and compares news from hundreds of sources using AI, providing users with a holistic view of the media landscape on any given topic.
The website generates alternative sources to the mainstream media, to enable you to look up a news topic based on various sources, instead of just one:
Their chrome add-on is for instant access to additional sources on that topic while reading any news article (although it's better to delete Google Chrome and use another browser if you can!):

Use Redz and delete Facebook
Share and get your friends to move over to this Palestinian founded social media platform that doesn't shadow ban or silence humanitarian voices. Don't forget to download/screenshot your posts if you would like to keep them, then delete your account and tell them your reason for leaving "Facebook supports genocide and I don't"

Use SMS or Telegram and delete WhatsApp
Get your friends and WhatsApp groups to move with you, chances are most are already using telegram! If you delete the WhatsApp app, don't forget to delete your account first in the app's settings. Don't forget to tell them your reason for leaving "WhatsApp funds genocide and I don't".
Please remember: We cannot ensure 100% traceability of business’ supply chains. The purpose of this website is to encourage businesses and consumers to develop brand consciousness and act upon this. When shopping at any shop if you are unsure about a brand, consider whether you really need that service or item. The best way to keep track of who your money goes to is to buy simple, raw products, and by learning to make and create what you need from them. Get your locals together and form a support system or network. Get back to basics together, and remind each other that we don’t need fancy branding to live clean, meaningful lives.
